3 Places to Eat in Pagkrati, Athens | Greece

Athens is a city with centuries worth of history and the capital city of Greece. One of the neighbourhoods, Pagkrati, has a friendly vibe without feeling too crowded in comparison to some of its more central locations. It’s not too far from the Panathenaeic Stadium, which was built for the Modern Olympic Games. Furthermore, it has some great views of The Acropolis. In this post, I’ll share three places to eat if you’re planning to visit Athens in Greece.

1. Omprela Cafe Brunch Bar – Address: Eratosthenous 21, Athina 116 3520

Omprela Cafe Bar in Pagkrati is a very nice place for a brunch in Athens. It has a fine selection of coffee, juices, pastries and breakfast items. I got the pancakes along with a flat white and a ginger and tumeric juice. It was all so nice that I made a return visit! The waiting staff were chatty and friendly.

It was quiet when I visited (which I personally appreciated!) but I can imagine it being a popular spot to frequent. It also has a bar so definitely think about it as a place to sit out in the evening, too. Check them out on Instagram here.

2. Plegma Coffee and Living – Address: Ευφράνορος 10, Athina 116 35240

Plegma Cafe is not just a coffee shop, but a space for home decor as well. It’s very aesthetic with a nice collection of coffee, breakfast and brunch items. I had the French toast and a flat white. The compote and cream were so good it made me wish the toast came with a third slice so I didn’t look like a glutton eating them on their own.

Not only is it a cafe, but it’s a shop with a plethora of home decor items to choose from. When I visited, there was a mixture of clients from parents with small children to people working quietly on their laptops watching the world in Pagkrati go by. Take a look at their official site here.

3. Cupaki Street Espresso – Address: Frinis 9, Athina 116 34450

Cupaki Street Espresso is a very nice cafe for a grab and go snack. Their Pagkrati location is one of three they have in Athens. The server Giota greeted me with a hello and a smile as I walked past and as a result I saw the wide selection of coffee on offer. There is plenty of seating outside and a bench indoors as well. It’s the perfect spot for a bit of people watching for sure. In terms of prices, the sandwich cost €2.80 and I got the flat white for €3.20. Check out their official site here.
