3 Places to Eat in Vancouver | Canada

Vancouver is a city which is home to a wide range of people from all over the world. This is something that is seen even more by the dining options when you visit. In this blog post, I’ll share 3 places to eat I visited which may be of interest to you if you visit Vancouver.

Jam Cafe Vancouver Outside

1. Jam Café – 556 Beatty St, Vancouver, BC V6B 2L3, Canada.

It’s most likely that if you Google brunch spots in Canada, this will be the first one to pop up. There was long queue at 10am when I arrived. I was told to wait 40 minutes but if you’re willing to sit outside or eat with a smaller party you’ll be seated faster.

The staff were very attentive, like potentially the most attentive and friendliest staff ever! The outside area was cool obviously but they provided warm blankets if you wanted. Flat white, orange juice, Blackstone Benedict and Blueberry pancakes all came to just under $50CAD. Pricey, but that is something you’ll need to accept if you eat out in Vancouver. That being said, I would have loved even bigger portions because it all tasted so good. More reviews are available here if you’d like to take a look or you can also check out their official site.

Italian Kitchen – 860 Burrard St, Vancouver, BC V6Z 1X9, Canada

Italian Kitchen Vancouver Pasta

I stumbled (not literally, but you get the idea) upon this place while I was walking through the city centre after a day’s exploring on a Friday night. A lot of the after work/Friday night date night crowd appeared to be there. If there is one word I could use to describe this restaurant it would be busy. I was seated relatively quickly without any reservation (get one if you can). The waiting staff asked if I minded sitting at the bar which I was perfectly fine with.

Italian Kitchen Vancouver Aranchini

The waiting staff were friendly despite the hectic atmosphere. The bar staff were also very friendly and offered to charge my phone while I ate. Carbonara and arancini are my go-tos whoever I go to an Italian restaurant and the food didn’t disappoint here. The carbonara in particular was creamy and filling. More reviews are available here or you can also visit their official site for the most up-to-date information.

The Keg Steakhouse + Bar – Dunsmuir – 688 Dunsmuir St, Vancouver, BC V6B 1N3, Canada

If you’re a fan of a solid steak and hearty food, this is the restaurant for you! I passed by The Keg Steakhouse + Bar during the late afternoon. There were sports playing on the television but a mix of predominantly suited workers meeting for after-work chats/debriefings during my time there. However, I could see the bar crowd trickle in.

Steaks are obviously their main attraction and I was very satisfied after my rich and juicy one. I can’t resist a dessert and the mile high chocolate cake was gooey and rich. Perfect for a chocoholic with a sweet tooth! Maybe not so good for a diabetic. More reviews are available here and further information is on their official site.

Final Thoughts

In all honesty, I barely scraped the surface of the variety of food and drink on offer in Vancouver. That said, please be aware that some restaurants may include some hidden extras and it’s customary to tip in Vancouver as well. I’d return to every place mentioned but I’d need to save up to be able to afford such a trip again!
