Singapore has a wonderful fusion of cultures and districts to discover if you’re planning a visit. In this post, I’ll share 10 places to eat in drink in Singapore. I’ve been to every single one of these and this is all based off of my experience there. I hope it will give you some inspiration to tantalise your tastebuds if you visit Singapore soon. I’ve divided these places into breakfast, lunch/dinner and cafes, desserts and snacks. That said, feel free to do your own thing.

Breakfast
- 1. Breakfast Hola – 280 South Bridge Rd, Singapore.
Located in Chinatown, this Taiwanese style restaurant cafe is nicely decorated with plenty of light and air-conditioning. When I was there, there was a nice crowd of people for there to be an atmosphere. That being said, service was still speedy and friendly.
The double cheese crepe roll cost me 6.70 SGs and fresh soy milk was 2.5SG. As mentioned previously, soy milk was never really my thing until I tried it in Taiwan so I thought I would change my arm here again.
- 2. Bearded Bella – 8 Craig Road, Singapore.
Firstly, I must give a shoutout to the kind lady at Kate Utu for recommending this place to me. This is a really nice brunch spot on Craig Road and it has plenty of seating. The flat white is one of nicest I have had in a long time and the staff are very friendly and helpful.
I opted for the Epic Breakfast which had a nice portion of maple bacon and sausage. The sea salt on the avocado was a great touch! If I lived in Singapore, I feel like it’s a place I would want to frequent regularly. Check out their official site here and their Instagram page here.
Lunch/Dinner
- 3. Uncle Louis Famous Chicken Rice, Maxwell Food Centre – 1 Kadayanallur St, #01-36 Maxwell market, Singapore 069184.
This place is very well known locally. I even saw the famous Louis in action while I was there! I had to queue for about 15 minutes before I could order roasted chicken rice for 5SG. A tip if you decide to come here, you can specify which part of the chicken you would like.
- 4. Gayatri Restaurant, Little India – 122 Race Course Rd, #01-01, Singapore 218583.
Located on Racecourse Road, this restaurant is highly recommended on TripAdvisor but it was empty when I visited. It was very well air-conditioned and the service staff were very hospitable. For dinner, I ordered the Chicken Dum Briyani with rice for 14.90 SG along with butter and garlic naan bread for 6.0 SG and a Coke Zero for 3 SG. My meal was served on a green leaf which I felt gave it an extra touch.
Cafes
- 5. Nanyang Old Coffee – 268 South Bridge Rd, Singapore 05881737.
This place has a fast moving queue and coffee is their specialty. I got mine for 2.40SG and I was able to find a seat outside but it started to fill quickly. If you like coffee, it’s strong without being overbearing.
- 6. Bhai Sarbat Stall Singapore – 21 Bussorah St, Singapore 1994395
This is great coffee stop in the Malay district. 2.20 SG for an iced coffee where can watch the world go by. I had a great chat with a local here and the seating is very much set up that it’s likely you’ll get to know some others if you are feeling sociable. Desserts and Snacks
- 7. The French American Bakery – 49 Haji Ln, Singapore 189242130
The French American Bakery is a very small bakery with incredible looking baked goods. It’s all very Instagrammable if that’s what you’re looking for. The hot chocolate was a popular option by other customers with burnt cream up on top. I got a fudgy brownie for 6.50 SG. It was very filling and chocolatey. It’s the perfect place for those with a sweet tooth!
- 8. Ri Ri Cha – 24 Sago St, Singapore 059020
Located close to Chinatown complex, this place is where to get your waffles when you come to Singapore. I got Nina-gao waffles (they’re chewier!) with duck shit flavor (yes, you read that correctly) and honey camomile flavored ice-cream which were recommended by the service staff. It was 15.80 SG in total. This place was busy and you may need to wait some time to get a seat but it was one of my favourites.
- 9. Three’s a Crowd – 50 Race Course Road, MRT:, Exit E, Nearest, Singapore 218562.
Three’s a Crowd is a very nice cafe I stumbled across while I was walking down Racecourse Road during the afternoon. I got a flat white along with an ice-cream cone (red velvet and speculoos flavoring) for 17SG. It’s very well air-conditioned with friendly staff. There is a long narrow seating area down to the bathroom. The soft scoops of ice-cream are really flavoursome.
- 10. Belle-Village Pancake Cafe Bugis – #01-01B Bugis Junction Towers, 230 Victoria St, Singapore 188024.
This place was busy when I arrived and I was told I would need to wait 20 minutes for pancakes. I ordered the very filling hot chocolate pancakes with chocolate ice-cream and chocolate sauce. A chocoholic’s dream! The pancakes were very soft and slightly eggy but they tasted good. To drink, I got a passion orange. In total, it came to 26.85 SG.
