3 Breakfast Spots to Try in Taipei.

They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day and when it comes to setting yourself up for a day of adventure and exploration in Taipei, these are three breakfast spots worth checking out.

1. King of Soy Milk – No. 27, Lane 310, Linshen North Road, Zhongshan District, Taipei. Taiwan.

Taipei MRT Stop: Shuanglian (Red Tamsui-Xinyi Line) or Zhongshan (Red Tamsui-Xinyi Line or Green Songshan-Xindian LINE).

First on my list is King of Soy Milk. It is located on a relatively quiet street. It has a nice selection of local breakfast food. Lots of toast, dumplings, meat to choose from and of course, soy milk. Personally, I wasn’t too fond of the soy milk (I wanted to at least give it a try) but the fried dumplings and toast were great! On the two occasions I was there, I was served quickly and staff were friendly.

Also, here’s a picture of the outside just in case you get a bit lost (like I always do).

2. Tamed Fox Café – No. 5號, Lane 76, Siwei Rd, Da’an District, Taipei City, Taiwan.

Taipei MRT Stop: Daan (Red Tamsui-Xinyi Line or Brown Wenhu Line) Xinyi Anhe (Red Tamsui-Xinyi Line).

This cafe is a bit more on the western side. But, if you’re into smoothie bowls, avocado on toast, etc. This will be your kind of place. To be honest, it is a bit more expensive than some local spots. The food and the location are very instagrammable. So, if that’s your thing, you’ll certainly want to come here. I would recommend to a friend and I would definitely return.

3. Fuhang Soy Milk – Stall 28, 2F, Huashan Market, 108, Section 1, Zhongxiao East Road, Zhongzheng District, Taipei, 100, Taipei.

Taipei MRT Stop: Shandao Temple (Blue Bannan Line).

Finally, this was a very pleasant surprise! It is a Michelin star restaurant, serving local Taiwanese dishes. Furthermore, this restaurant opens early (5:30am) and the earlier you are, the less time you’ll spend in the queue. That said, the staff worked quickly. I loved watching them prepare the dough. The food was tasty, in particular the signature thick bread with scrambled eggs. However, the soy milk was the big hit for me (and I normally don’t even like soy milk!). Out of all the breakfast spots I visited, it was definitely the most memorable.

Lastly, I hope this gives you some ideas if you can to visit Taipei. Which restaurant or cafe would you like to visit? Thanks for reading! If you liked this post, you may like some others that I have written about Taiwan.
