Where Can I Find Tickets to be in the TV Audience?

I used SRO Audiences several weeks in advance and chose 3 suitable dates. On the dates I was going to visit London, there was only one show taping (Loose Women). They were very quick to get back to me and they gave an incredible amount of information via e-mail in preparation.

What to Expect and Who to Expect on the Day

On the day of the recording, I took the underground to Wood Lane station. You’ll see the Television Centre as soon as you exit if you’re coming from the centre of London. If you’re wondering about which guests appear on the show, you don’t find out until it’s announced on TV or via social media. I found out on the way there via X (formerly known as Twitter) here.

Upon Arrival at Television Centre, White City, London.

Upon arrival, you’ll have to undertake a security check. In my case, I had my bags searched. Anything sharp will be taken from you but you can collect it afterwards. I was still able to take my belongings with me into the studio. While you queue, a member of staff will take your details and check you in. After that, you’ll be given a wristband.

Entrance to the tv studio is on the left upon arrival.

Ten to fifteen minutes beforehand, you’ll get briefed by a member of staff in the queue. You have to keep your phone switched off as you enter and if you’re seen taking photos, you may be asked to leave. There are bathrooms that you can use while you wait. I arrived about 30 minutes before entry and I was about halfway down the queue by the time security allowed the audience to enter the studios.

Inside the Studio and Before the Show Goes Live.

Once you get inside, you’ll be greeted by an MC who entertains the crowd the entire time. You’ll see the hosts getting ready, they’ll come and say hello to the audience. Then, the hosts go to a pre-show meeting. Before the show begins, you’ll see some promos being recorded and there may be some parts which are live. In addition, the MC will chat to the crowd, and encourage you to speak to the person next to you with a few ice-breakers. You’ll also practice audience reactions and as the MC said, ‘If you wanted to stay quiet, you could’ve just watched it at home!’

When the Show Goes Live

Then, when the show goes live, it’s actually just like you see on tv. In between breaks, the hosts will speak to the crowd or with the director. When I visited, Denise Welch was on the panel and told loads of jokes to the audience in between. Christine Lampard definitely appeared to be the busiest and it seemed like she didn’t have a second to spare.

After the Show is Over

Once the show ends, the hosts say goodbye and you’re let out row by row. You can leave very shortly after the show ends and you’ll be escorted off of the premises. You are given discounts for food at the cafes and restaurants on the premises if you like as well. Overall, it’s a fun and free thing to do on London if you’re looking for something fun to do. I would recommend it and I’d do it again for sure!

I would love to do this again (I used to live in London, and have been to some shows a long time ago), and I think it’s a great thing for visitors/tourists to do. Great tips!
