If you are travelling from Whistler to Pemberton in British Columbia, most visitors recommend that you rent a car. If you’re like me and you rely on public transport, I’ll tell you how to go from Whistler to Pemberton by bus. Keep reading to find out more.
Pemberton is the perfect base if you are planning to visit Joffrey Lakes as it has several food and accommodation options as well.
How to Go from Whistler to Pemberton
Firstly, to go from Whistler to Pemberton, you need to take the Route 99 Pemberton Commuter with BC Transit. A single ticket costs $4.50CAD. This bus leaves from Gondola Village Transit Exchange at 6:20am, 7:40am, 4:40pm, 6:05pm and 9:13pm. It operates on a seven day schedule.
Furthermore, it should arrive approximately 6 minutes later at Meadow Park Sports Centre and 4 minutes after that it arrives at Rainbow Estates.
Finally, the last stop is about 32 minutes later at Blackbird Eatery in Pemberton. It’s across the way from Pemberton Hotel.
The views along the way are very scenic and only a brief snapshot of what you can expect if you intend on going further on to visit Joffrey Lakes.
What if I want to go from Pemberton to Whistler?
Alternatively, if you are planning to return back (maybe you need to travel to Whistler to get back to Vancouver) you can also take the BC Transit Route 99. It leaves from Blackbird Bakery in Pemberton at 7:00am, 8:20am, 5:25pm, 6:50pm and 9:59pm. The most up to date information can be found here.
