Most people I know have expressed a curiosity for Benidorm above all else. Defined as a very British part of Spain, Benidorm has so much more to offer in terms of Spanish beauty and scenery. Keep reading to check out some things to do in Benidorm, Spain.

Chill by the Beach
Most people come to Benidorm and Spain in general for the sunshine and beautiful beaches. You’ll get this for sure if you go to Benidorm. Playa Levante is the most popular one you’ll see which is surrounding by an abundance of high-rise buildings.

You’ll get hours of sunshine here and time to rent a sun lounger and umbrella and relax. In terms of prices, it costs €6 for an umbrella and €6 for a sun lounger for the day. This is patrolled and you’re given a ticket. There are sellers offering souvenirs, ice-cream and cold drinks throughout the day, too.

Visit the Old Town in Benidorm
The Old Town in Benidorm tends to be overlooked but it’s worth a trip if you’re in the area. There are plenty of whitewashed buildings and old churches to admire, outdoor market stalls to walk around, in particular in the old town square, and Spanish people to listen to. In addition, it’s a great place to check out the sunset in the evening if that’s your thing.

There are plenty of Spanish bars and restaurants to check out in the old town, too. If you like burgers, I’d recommend a trip to Uptown Burger which is a popular cafe bar with locals. On another note, if you are travelling around Spain and need to wash clothes, I used a self-service Lavandería WashInTown which was very cheap and easy to use.

Explore British Street in Benidorm
Located between Av. de Mallorca and Calle Gerona, the British area of Benidorm is a sensory overload. Loud, flashing lights, staff from bars trying to get you in for drinks, games and shows from all areas. Bunking broncos, drunk, rowdy tourists, it’s all here. I was here in 2013 (also alcohol-free) and found it enjoyable to observe, this time I found it to be a lot. That being said, like marmite, you’ll either love it or hate it. Take a walk around, and sus it out for yourself.

Accommodation Recommendation in Benidorm
If you’re looking for an accommodation recommendation in Benidorm, I stayed at Playa Vista Oro. It has a nice, central location with a pool and sun loungers. For breakfast you’ll need to be selective with what you choose to eat and drink. Some food and in particular the orange juice felt overly sweet and artificial (CHEAP).

Walls are paper thin but the bed is comfortable and the balcony is nice to look out at all the action. However, the staff are friendly and helpful when they can be. Most guests appeared to be large groups of families (of all ages and generations) from the United Kingdom.

Even though I’ve heard about Benidorm over the years, I didn’t really know what was on offer and what could be explored/experienced there. This was really interesting and seems like a good spot for a quick getaway.
