How to Travel from Vancouver to Whistler by Bus

In this blog post, I’ll provide you with some options if you’re in Canada and plan on travelling from Vancouver to Whistler by bus. What I had initially planned and what I checked out online at times ended up being different in reality on several occasions during my trip in Canada.

Two Main Choices

The two most popular bus options are with Skylynx or Epic Rides. My initial plan was to travel with Skylynx as they have routes which leave from Vancouver International Airport. Unfortunately, due to my flight delay, immigration, etc. it wasn’t possible. When I went to Pacific Central Bus Station the next day, all of their seats to Whistler from Vancouver had been booked. This left me with another option: Epic Rides.

My Experience Getting from Vancouver to Whistler

The price was $35CAD one way with Epic Rides. I couldn’t book my ticket online (my bank enjoys blocking transactions from abroad and implements a two-step authentication where you can’t get the code unless you’re in the UK or Ireland). It left from Burrard Station at 1088 Melville Place. To be honest, this area has roads in all directions and vehicles coming and going from everywhere. Look for this mural and there should be some passengers waiting for the same bus if you’re lucky.

The Main Part of the Journey

Once I boarded, the bus as only half full. As a result, there was plenty of space. While it did say that there was wifi on the bus, it didn’t work. It connected, but that was about it. The journey was very scenic journey throughout! It took two hours to get to Whistler with a stop in Squamish along the way.
