If you’re thinking about going to Barcelona, it’s highly likely that you’ll want to visit the Sagrada Familia. In this blog post, I’ll go though my experience in terms of booking tickets, what you need to do to be prepared for your tour, and my thoughts on whether or not this is worth visiting.

Booking Tickets for the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona
Tickets cost approximately €25 for general admission. You need to book these in advance. I think it’s important to point out that I booked on Trip.com and they cancelled them two hours before the booking and never confirmed that they secured the tickets.
However, I went to the Sagrada Familia and managed to book tickets at the stall at the back of Sagrada Familia where you book the hop on, hop off bus tour. They had tickets for four days later e.g. I went there on Wednesday and got a ticket for Sunday. I would recommend that you make sure that your tickets are secured in advance if at all possible.
In order to confirm your tickets, you need to download the Sagrada Familia app. It will also give you access to the audio guide which you need to download in advance if you don’t have data. There is wifi there but no harm to download it in advance as the network might be unpredictable.
How good is the audioguide at the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona?
Follow the guide from start to finish, it’s very detailed and there are also some augmented reality elements. There are seven points including the basilica’s origins, the nativity façade, sculptures, rosary cloister, nativity doors, the forest, columns and vaults, and crypt.
Final Thoughts on the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona
To conclude, the whole thing is a literal work of art and the story of Gaudi’s vision is truly inspiring. It’s definitely one of the best things to do in Barcelona if not the best thing to do! Booking is limited so it’s not overly crowded but obviously as it’s always sold out you’ll have a crowd no matter what. Finally, make sure you get your tickets sorted out as soon as possible!
